New Britain Youth Soccer League

The end of the spring 2010 NBYSL season is just a couple of weeks away, which means it’s time to register for the fall season.

Key dates:

August 7 – Registration Day (2:00 – 4:00 at Willow Brook Park)
This day will provide everyone with an easy way to hand in registrations and make payments.

August 21 – Meet-N-Greet (2:00 – 3:00 at Willow Brook Park)
The Meet-N-Greet will be a time for players and coaches to meet their teams and get their practice schedules.

August 23 – Practices start this week

September 1 – $10.00 late fee for registrations received after this date

September 12 – No registrations accepted after this date!

September 26 – Picture date

October 13 – Election date

If you look on the left-hand column, you’ll find links to the practice and game schedules for all the divisions. Also, Modell’s has provided an updated coupon for soccer gear–remember, when you use the coupon, a portion of the purchase price goes back to the league!

The Meet and Greet for the Spring 2010 season is next Saturday, April 10, which means that it’s time to get new gear: cleats, black shorts, socks, and shin guards. If your child has moved up a division, they may need a new soccer ball.

We’re here to help. If you take these coupons to the Newington, Buckand Hills, or Hamden Modell’s stores, you’ll get 15% off your purchase, and the league will earn 5% back as a fundraiser. The coupons are good until 4/22.

It’s almost time for the New Britain Youth Soccer League’s spring season!  You can download a registration form here.  As you make your plans, here are the key dates to keep in mind:

• March 20, 2pm-3.30pm: Registration Day (Willow Brook Park).  An easy way to register / make payments / ask questions.
• April 10, 2pm-3.30pm: Meet-n-Greet (Willow Brook Park). Players and coaches can meet one another.
• April 12: PRACTICES START THIS WEEK!
• May 2: First games / NO REGISTRATIONS AFTER THIS DATE.
• May 16: Picture Day
• June 27: Last game.

Due to the weather, all games are canceled today.  Some divisions will make up games in lieu of practices this week.  For example, the U-8 division will play games at Stanley Quarter Park on Friday.

Next weekend will still be the last week of the season, and the CT CHIP event will still go on as planned.  (NOTE: If next weekend’s games also are unplayable, then we will add another weekend to the season.)

On Sunday, October 25, the Connecticut Child Identification Program (CT CHIP) will be at Willow Brook Park from 11am until the end of the afternoon games. Parents will be able to have a “Purple Pack” Made with fingerprints, toothprints, and more.

On the last weekend of the season, help protect your family with the CT CHIP program!

The game and practice schedules for Little Kickers, U-8, and U-10 (as well as practice schedules for U-14) divisions are all available here. Note that next Sunday, Sept. 20, is League picture day, and so your child will need to be early.

Also, the New Britain Youth Soccer League is a volunteer-run enterprise, and so there’s *always* a need for energetic, caring people to be involved. Find out more on our Volunteers page.

Next Saturday, August 29, the New Britain Youth Soccer League will hold an open registration event at Modell’s Sporting Goods, on the Berlin Turnpike (click here for a map; here for directions).  NBYSL will be there from 10am-2pm.

It will also be a fundraising day for the league: A percentage of all soccer-related purchases will be donated to the New Britain Youth Soccer League.
